The Friends of the Columbia Wetlands Society is a registered nonprofit group dedicated to educational programs and projects in the East Kootenay Rocky Mountain Trench and Upper Columbia River wetlands. Our mandate calls for providing factual information regarding this unique and environmentally valuable area.  Through education, we feel current and future generations will voluntarily work to preserve the fragile habitats that exist in this area.

We are a membership ranging from classrooms full of children to senior tour groups. Current projects include the construction of information kiosks, offering brochures further explaining the role wetlands play in our environment and narrated slide shows presented free to school groups, clubs and community organizations, which showcase the wetlands in their natural state.
